time passes so quickly

so much things had happen these past few weeks that I find myself pretty overwhelmed by everything. It seems like that there is just not enough hours in a day. With neverending amount of reports and assignments, plus finals coming up in a few weeks time, it seems like blogging might be a waste of time. But, well, cannot really help it. When a girl's got to blog, she just have to blog.

21/03/2008: Went to National Library.

Waiyin asked me to accompany her to National Library coz she wants to look for a book there. Coincidentally, I was having lunch with Hanson that day so he came along. We walked back from UKM fac to our hostel because there were not any buses. Then, we walked from our hostel to National Lib. I would not mind walking if it was not because it was so damn freakin' hot that day. I swear, I will never be fair-skinned for my whole life because of the stupid weather in M'sia.

Some random pics of the NatLib. I have not been here, I think, since I was in primary school. It has changed vastly, but I dunno if for the better. Honestly, the system to search for the books here just does not seem useful at all. In the end, we all have to manually look for the book ourselves.

Plus, the freakin' place where we put all our bags and belongings stink of stupid bleeping cigarette smoke.

31/03/2008: Ching Meng at Tanjong Malim and Semenyih.

Went to Tanjong Malim to pray my great grandparents' graves. Honestly, Tg malim reminds me a lot of Ipoh Old town, so quiet and peaceful, with no signs of modernity. I dunno how I will survive there. Looks kinda boring.

After that, we head to Nirvana Memorial Park to pray to my grandparents' graves. The freakin' traffic jam on the way there made it so damn uncomfortable for me, squeezed at the back of my uncle's Naza Ria.

Words cannot describe how terrible the ride home was. The heavy rain afterwards not only make the jam worse, but cause flood everywhere. I can just say that my whole Ching Meng day started from 6am-6pm.

Oh well, we only do this once a year, so I guess I should not complain so much, right?

Btw, on a totally unrelated note, Mom finally bought for me this cool earrings hanger thingy to keep my huge amount of collection of earrings!

Also, I got a pair of new Reebok kicks! The story is this, I was in the hostel when my Mom called and say that someone broke into our house's shoe closet. Can you freakin' believe that? Thieves will go all the way. Anyways, my new shoes are kept inside so those were safe and most of my shoes are inexpensive (in other words, kinda cheap-lah). However, Mom's expensive leather and sports shoes were all stolen. So I accompanied Mom to Leisure Mall to buy a new pair of sports shoes. SInce there was a sale, so...

3 kl blurs first time buy bus tickets

The only time I had ever went on a holiday with friends without any supervision or chaperones was during my Form 6 class trip when we went to Pulau Lang Tengah, Terengganu (a small island off Pulau Redang) in June 2007. This month, my Form 6 class is again organising a trip to Melaka, which I am joining as well. But a week before the Melaka trip, I am going to visit another state, this time in the North - Perak Darul Ridzuan.

I am going to Ipoh! The idea came because Wai Yin wanted to go to Kampar to check out her new campus. She is going to study at UTAR taking Quantity Survey (QS). Since Hanson is not able to join the class trip to Melaka, WY suggested that we go to Ipoh with Hanson instead. It was really just an idea and we did not plan much until the eleventh hour. The main problem that arise was definitely the dates. Hanson has only one week of holiday, WY is still working twice a week at Kumon, Jino is working at Wisma Genting during his sem break and Suz C (who initially wanted to follow us back to KL) also has her own plans to meet her husband. But finally, we finalise the dates and there is no changing of dates anymore!

~1/12/2007~

I met up with WY and Hanson today to discuss further about the trip as well as to purchase our bus tickets at the Pudu bus station. I picked up WY first at the lrt station and then later we went to visit Hanson at KTSN, our hostel, since he stayed overnight there. I was surprised to see some FSKB students there, who are busy with the shengxue activities (So semangat!). Other than some of those students in the DSG foyer, the rest of the hostel area was really quiet.

Whilst waiting for Hanson, I acted as the tour guide to show WY around KTSN although there was really nothing impressive to show as KTSN is old, small and so-so only in terms of cleanliness. When I went up to my block, I saw many clothes hanging on the clothesline. It means the hostel management has already rented out our rooms to other people during our final semester break.

The 3 of us chatted at the cafe about our trip. There was a sense of nostalgia as I was walking around KTSN and sitting at the cafe. I am not planning to stay at the hostel starting from my 2nd year. I wonder if I will miss it?

Since it was troublesome to have 2 cars, I drove the 3 of us to Petaling Street. I was so blur about the directions there but luckily, we all reached there in one piece (*sweat*). It was so long since I came back to Petaling St. I used to come here very often back in Form 6 because I had so many tuitions in PST then (4 times a week!). I had Physics tuition at Kita, PA at Yakin and Biology at Kasturi. Sigh...those were the days...

I took a lot of random pics in PST today. WY and Hanson laughed at me for being so tourist-like. LOL. It is just I have not been to PST for a long time mah;(

After lunch, we went to Pudu Bus Station to enquire about the bus tickets to Ipoh. This was the first time the 3 of us ever buy bus tickets before. LOL~ We did not even know where to start enquiring. WY suggested we ask reliable and established bus companies like KKKL, Konsortium and Transnasional. We started at KKKL. But when I asked the lady if they had buses to Ipoh, she said no. And you know what? They had a big sign at the front of the counter that said "Ipoh." LOL. If don't have buses to Ipoh, then don't put misleading signs-lah! Wasted our time lining up. We chose KKKL first because we saw so many people lining up. Haihz...

So, next we decided to try our luck at Konsortium. This time, there was no misunderstanding. They do have buses to Ipoh as according to the SIGNBOARDS (lol!) But we wanted to check the prices of other buses as well so we then proceed to Transnasional. Luckily, I had followed my coursemates, Carolyn and Yu Siang to Pudu bus station previously when they wanted to refund their tickets so I knew there was a bigger counter for Transnasional. They offered tickets to Ipoh at a slightly cheaper price so we bought our bus tickets there and then.

There was nothing else left to do so we left. The weather was scorching hot so that probably made us want to go back home. I send Hanson back to KTSN and he gave WY a ride home.

S&M Shopping Arcade was having sale today. We went to Hot Market and copped some stuff. Wish I could copped more accessories but I had to control myself. A lot of accessories were on sale. I copped an anklet (which originally costs RM3.00 but had 50% discount!) and 2 sets of similiar earrings but in different colours. Before that, in the morning, I bought a pair of leggings at the flea market near my house.

If there is one thing that I learn today is that it is okay to be out of my comfort zone once in a while. I have never bought bus tickets before and I have never went on a free & easy (non-tour) trip with just 4 friends. I am really glad for all this experience and to have friends to share it with:)

Last Tuesday, I stayed for a few extra days at KTSN (my kolej kediaman) because Beng2 and Suzane have asked me to go to Eye Of Msia with them. I was really hesitant at first because I have heard that EOM has not much to offer and they charge RM15.00 for only a few rounds. However it has been an outing we have discussed about since the time when I have just met BB and Suzane, way back during the 3M orientation week and also, BB had finished her exams and was going back to Batu Gajah that week...So, finally, I caved in.

BB and Suzane went out for shopping that day with their coursemates and they said they will 'tapau' KFC for my dinner. So I waited until they came back with my dinner. But halfway when I was eating, BB barged into my room and stopped me and Suzane from eating. She said we have to go to EOM now because she was afraid it was going to rain. She cleared away all the KFC from my desk, chased Suzane back to her own room to change and forced me to change my clothes as well.

After that, the three of us walked to the EOM using the route across Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. Actually, I felt a little strange since we took a longer route than the usual route but BB say the view is nicer across TTT. Once we reached the EOM (with my poor blistered feet, no thanks to my shoes!), Suzane immediately disappeared, saying she wanted to buy some food. BB pulled me towards the bank of the lake, admiring the beautiful watershow lights when suddenly....

..."Look! There is Chu!" BB pointed towards her right side. Sure enough, there was Chun Hong (Hanson) and another guy sitting on the grass between two bushes, overlooking the lake. From far, it really looks like a couple was dating...lol. BB and I went over to say hi to CH and the guy sitting next to him turned out to be Sui Teng, CH's medic coursemate and good friend.

That is when something bizarre happened. ST looked upset when
he saw me and he started to lashed out on me. He asked me weird questions like
why am I always with CH, if i really like CH, if not why am I always with CH,
etc. I was like - "What the-???" Being confused, I told BB we should
leave these two alone but BB pulled me back instead. Only when BB said, "But
I thought you are M1, why are you gay?" did I understood what was
happening. ST was confessing his feelings to CH and he sees me as a threat in
this bizarre love triangle. At that point, I really did not know what I am
supposed to say so I just looked at CH's face. CH's face had changed from
laughing to dead serious. He signalled me to leave with his
face. So I immediately got up to escape from this akward situation when suddenly
ST pulled me back. That is when I got really freaked out. This was a serious situation, a situation I would never imagined in a
million years that I will be caught in...

Suddenly, a guy jumped out from the bushes holding up a candle-lighted birthday cake. My initial thought was-"Whose birthday is it?" Only when I saw the rest of the medic boys spraying at CH did I understood. CH's medic friends, along with BB and Suzane had planned an early birthday surprise for both me and CH. All ST had said was part of the plan to surprise both of us.

So, this was CH and mine's first bday here at UKM, celebrated at Tmn Tasik Titiwangsa with delicious Secret Recipe's Chocolate Cheesecake (Yummy!). This was also my first time meeting CH's medic friends and his "potato" family. People that I have heard stuff about but have never seen them in person. I must admit they looked like the jovial, happy-go-lucky and crazy gang.

After that, the boys left and us girls managed to persuade CH to go to EOM with us. So 4 of us sat on the 'most famous ferris wheel in Malaysia';P We did not get a good view as the windows were wet, a consequence from the rain, so we ended up snapping pics non-stop inside. Before we knew it, our ride is over and there goes our RM15.00. Honestly, there is nothing that special about sitting in the EOM but taking pics of the EOM is very pretty as it changes lights every minute. Too bad I did not get many clear shots that night.

After snapping a bit more pics, we decided to leave and go back to our kolej. It was nearly 11pm when we arrived. We had a little problem at the gates because CH forgot to bring his matric card but finally, the guard let us in.

We call it a night!

Thank you to Beng Beng, Suzane, Sui Teng and the rest of the medic boys for doing this. I and Chun Hong really did have fun that night=)
