kenyir lake story 3

This is the conclusion to a trip that was filled with laughter and jokes.

On our 4th and final day, after the boat dropped us back at Pengkalan Gawi, our van took us back to Kuala Terengganu town. The first place we go is, of course, to eat. Apparently, there is a "Chinatown" in KT too, slightly reminiscent of Jonker Walk in Malacca (to me).

Kuala Terengganu's own Chinatown
We had a scrumptious lunch at one of the restaurants there before asking the van to drop us at Phon's sister's place. Considering the amount of people that we had, thankfully his sister was able to provide us with 3 cars that served as our main transport for sight-seeing in KT.

One of the places we went to is to buy some keropok lekor at Pasar Besar KT.

Sellers will be sitting up high overlooking their merchandise
Besides food items, you can buy souvenirs, batik, silverware, and all sorts of trinkets here.

kenyir lake story 2

-day 3-

Lasir Waterfalls where we docked for the night
On day 3, we made a long journey from Lasir Waterfalls to the National Park and the caves. It was a really long journey because we only arrived there after lunch. So to fill in the time, we played games. "Twister" was one of them.

Head-to-head
The game was really funny, especially considering the guys were going all for it, attacking and blocking their opponents. I could die laughing watching them play. I am not so good in it considering I have no flexibility at all in any ounce of my body. But it was still so much fun watching them play.

-day 1-

I went to Terengganu via Air Asia on June 15th. Since our flight was around 7am, I have to wake up before the crack of dawn and we all assembled at Phon's house for our transport to LCCT. The flight to Kuala Terengganu (KT) was quite short actually, around 40mins, which meant that I had no time to catch my 40 winks although I was really tired.

Upon arrival at Sultan Mahmood airport, I was pleasantly surprised by how well-looking and clean the airport is wtf. Btw, I was not the only one who had the same thoughts ok?

Since our houseboat would only be arriving in the afternoon, we asked our driver to drop us off for some brunch - some KT local food.

Our first meal in Terengganu
Which was some coloured rice, eaten together with curry fish, chicken, etc.

After that, we head on to the jetty awaiting the arrival of our houseboat. This boat was going to be our home for the next 4 days and 3 nights, taking us on a tour across Tasik Kenyir. We eat on the boat, sleep on the boat, talk on the boat, do "business" on the boat, yabba yabba you get it.

a prelude to a sweet escapade

So, it is close to 1am now and I am supposed to wake up bright and early at 7am tomorrow because I need to settle my letters to Pharmacy Board at faculty tomorrow. Damn, all these government stuff are so cumbersome. What happened to the good old-fashioned way of looking for a job? Y'know, with resume, CV and interview, etc. And I am such a blur when it comes to regulations and formalities that I somehow feel that I might forget some important procedures along the way :(

I have been wanting to post about my Kenyir Lake trip on June 15th - 18th 2011 with my ex-Form 6 classmates. I am trying to hold back on the number of photos that I want to post in the blog here. I know I tend to post a lot of photos but I simply cannot resist it. Every photo, to me, tells a story and I just feel like sharing it.

I have been going through some of the Kenyir photos that have been published on Facebook by my friends and I just want to share some of my favourites that they took. I hope they are not big on the whole copyright thing. But hey, I did credit the photos to them lol. So, as a prelude to my Kenyir trip, here is the "summary" of it all, as seen from the eyes of my friends, the photographers themselves.

taken via iPhone
On the last day of the trip, I came up with the idea of making a montage of all the people that went on the trip. I had some fun playing with the Leme Leme app on my iPhone and I like the whole vintage effect of pictures. The effect is called Fallen Angel, btw. But we are no angels, that is for sure.
