Tokyo Shopping Hauls

Been wanting to write about this post for a while now but kept making up excuses lol. It is the middle of March and I am blogging about my trip back in January wtf.

Going there, I did not really have a list in mind about things to buy, well except for Emoda as I have read about it prior in Fourfeetnine and Cheeserland blogs.

I am quite shocked (and guilty wtf) about how much I have spend but there is also a huge sense of satisfaction when I see my loot from Japan.

Took me a long time to arrange all my buys so I can take a "group" pic. After I finish clearing up everything, I realized I forgot to insert my MUJI pillow inside so sad ok TT______TT.

First pic: Actually these are not my buys from Japan lol. They are souvenirs from HK by Suzy M. The pouch is real handy to store all my important belongings when I go for my lunch breaks :)

Assortment of souvenirs from Asakusa and also pins from gatcha-gatcha that we spun at Tokyo, Hakone and also Kyoto.

can the truth really set me free? (december)

Can you believe it took me 1 week just to finish this post?

***************

Yes, I am blogging finally.

Just completed my one month at the Pharmacy Store. Not too offend anyone but I felt like it is the place I learned the least from.

Yesterday I had on-call at outpatient Pharmacy (on a Saturday T_________T). If possible, I don't ever want to do Saturday on-calls anymore. Omg, I have never seen so many patients ever since I started on-call. I was trying to help with filling (which I am awful at) and every time I tried to motivate myself to finish one pile of prescriptions, another pile will come and another and another. Finally I gave up and went to eat lunch. However, fortunately by evening, less people were coming already. Thank goodness.

After an exhausting day, I went to Sg Wang to have lunch with my extended family. The occasion? Relatives from Bangkok were in KL so we had a nice dinner at Esquire Kitchen. But that will be for another post.

Here are some pics from my phone:

#1: Xmas at Pavillion

Seriously, I think Pavilion has really outdone themselves with the Xmas decorations this time around. The place looks like a gorgeous Winter Wonderland. However, with the throngs of Xmas shoppers, it was tricky to get good shots of the decor without getting people inside the shots.

Hate my hunchback of notre dame pose in this pic, but it's the best I got. Must teach mom how to use iphone camera more often;)
If you have read my previous post, maybe you would have guessed which birthday present I went for ;P

my shopping habits 101

Final exams results are out but I just cannot bring myself to check it yet...I guess I am just delaying the inevitable...again...

****************

My loot from Taiwan
My Taiwan trip is not bad. Although some places are a bit dull. I like Taipei the best, maybe because I grew up in a city. Anyways, shopping in Taiwan is awesome although Bangkok is still my tops. Too bad I was on a budget so I cannot get all the stuff I wanted. The style in Taiwan is a lot girlier than my preferences but I still managed to copped some really pretty stuff.

Hopefully I will find the time to blog about my Taiwan trip...:)

Anyway, feel like posting some selca pics. I don't normally do it in this blog since I am not really some kind of avid fashionista. I cannot afford to buy branded goodies as much as I would want to. But I like eclectic, quirky and one-of-a-kind clothes and accessories. Oh, and I love vintage stuff too. There is something so beautiful and classic about retro stuff.

caged blouse, vintage bag: sg Wang | tutu skirt, vintage shoes: times sq
Really like this blouse a lot. Must have worn it the most out of all my new clothes. There is this new area opened at Sg Wang 2nd floor called, "Fashion Runway". Prices are higher than the other shops but their clothes are totally in-trend. Another place I frequent is Sg Wang 6th floor, "T-Hop Zone" because they are also selling really unique and trendy items, like this bright peach and blue vintage bag. The best thing about this bag is the lock which is super cute.

bidding adieu

I miss blogging. Period.

Now that a heavy burden has been lifted off my shoulders, i.e. the stress of studying Pharmacy, I am determined to start blogging properly with lots of pics and updates.

I am thinking of doing a special photo project. I read about it on Sweatlee a long time ago, the Project 365. I guess many avid blogger cum photography lovers will be familiar with it.

First thing on my holiday itinerary is to blog about my memories in my last semester in UKM. So much to blog, I hope I can finish it all. Starting from the latest, which are my 3 consecutive outings, my trip to Sungai Lembing (Ling Ming San) with my Pharmacy coursemates, both my course nights, my Malacca trip with 7 dwarves (finally!), and various other moments, including my clinical life in HUKM.

#DAY 1: THE ROOMMATE

Right after my exams, I had a brief 2D 1N trip to Sg Lembing with my Pharmacy coursemates, which left me exhausted and lots of bruises on my leg, like I kena abused or something. But more about it on another post.

The day after that, with much rest in the morning, Clara and I left in the afternoon to sort out our upcoming trip to Taiwan. After that, we joined the lovely 7 dwarves and Carrie at Pavilion. First off, we had some yummy dessert at Snowflake's courtesy of Jane Kong. Next it was movie time with the choice being "The Roommate". Clara and Carrie had to rush off for their buddy gathering so I remained with the rest for dinner at Pepper Lunch Express.

Being a huge Gossip Girl fan, Blair Waldorf is my favourite character on the show and Leighton Meester does a brilliant job projecting a snobbish yet shrewd Upper East Side elite girl. So, although I was not particularly interested in the storyline, I am a fan when it comes to Leighton.

Sadly, the movie really disappoint me. So not scary at all. Watch it if you like 1. Pretty girls - Minka, Leighton, Aly, and even Nina Dobrev, good way to convince ur bf to watch this mv with you or 2. If you like fashion. The main actress is a fashion student and her style is really distinctive and chic. Love her illustrations too. Yup, I only like the fashion aspect of it all. Other than that, the whole movie feels like a modern remake of the movie, "Single White Female", which I feel, is way scarier than this one.

Snowflakes yummy ice
Have to admit it, Snowflakes is like becoming a cultural phenomenon. Everytime I go there, I see flocks of people. By the way, Coco Loco is still my favourite =)

when she comes, …

I realized that I update my other shopping blog even more often than I do with this one. Haih…maybe it is coz for the other blog, I can keep the words short and simple. Lately, I have been feeling like having a blog is kind of like a burden. I feel forced whenever I am blogging. I don’t know why. Maybe I have really lose the interest in blogging already. After more than 2 years, I sometimes wondered how long will this blog continues? I have even lost the interest in reading friends’ blogs too.

I am being surrounded by the thoughts of my LI report and my research project. As my LI training is slowly coming to an end in 2 weeks’ time, I want to be able to finish my report by then and get started on my research project. It is just so worrying whenever I think about it that I refuse to think about it during my LI.

LI is also becoming boring lately. Because it is such a small company, I have already learned all that is to be learned. So it is becoming mundane. Plus, a friend has been transferred to another department so it is getting boring now.

Anyway, I have been wanting to post about this a really long time ago. I think about 3 weeks ago? During my first week of LI, Clara came over and stayed at my house for the weekends.

*****MID VALLEY FOOD & NUTRITION CARNIVAL********

We went to Mid Valley on a Saturday and shopped for hours. Coincidentally, MV was having a food and nutrition-themed fair at the exhibition hall. We had lots of fun trying all the samples and getting freebies. LOL. I will let the photos do the talking=)

when you are now officially over your third year in pharmacy…

boo-hoo. i realized so some of my friends are graduating this year. and no, that does not include me. sad, but true. however, i am already done with 75% of my journey, one more year. i wondered how will that time be (?).

thank you for my 3rd year in ukm. first time being part of organizing committee not only for “tung fang zhi ye” (sorry if my pinyin is wrong) and also “night of the venenum”, the only two dinner parties i ever go to every year. also, most memorable this year is the start of our thesis year. really appreciate prof thomas being my supervisor, despite me knowing what a busy man he is and that i really should not bother him with every little detail. also thanks to anyone who have listened to me ‘whine & complain’ about my research project.

anyway, thesis is one big fan nou thing that i won’t speak of here. let’s just say previously i took things too lightly without considering a lot of aspects as well as consequences :(

9 weeks of holidays = 3 weeks of doing work in hukm + 6 weeks of industrial training at natural wellness. haih, and you call this holiday?

well, my post-finals activities ain’t so sweet like previous times anymore due to the burden of THESIS. the only time we are free to go out is evening time, after we come back home from doing our respective work. sad, okay?

my roommate suzane’s bday is approaching soon – 7th May. couldn’t have a nice bday dinner with housemates only due to one go back home, and two busy with work, plus three busy with their own entertainment. this was a present from her lil buddy, lelia.

today is january 21st 2010…

I am so bored of looking at my notes so I am procrastinating them to have a little update…I know, habits are hard to change, but I need to make effort to change my procrastinating habits soon…

2AMalbum

Today is also the day of 2AM’s comeback. Yay. I have been waiting for their comeback since last year. Although they are not as popular as 2PM, but seriously their voices are so sweet and melodious. I admit, I was not that interested in them initially because I am not big fans of Korean ballad groups but after watching them in variety shows, 2AM has definitely garnered my interest. Seulong is not only tall and good-looking but he is so funny;)

And of course their leader Jo Kwon, whom I was already a fan of but became obsessed recently with his show, We Got Married. In it, Jo Kwon and Ga-In of Brown Eyed Girls act as a fake marriage couple. It is kind of like a reality show and he is so funny. But I think he has multiple personalities because sometimes he can be so cute, so brave and also so charismatic at times. He never fails to make me laugh during every episode. I wish he and Ga-In can end up together for real ~~!!!

By the way, I totally recommend their songs and their latest album. Their voices are great. **Click on the pic above to be directed to the downloads**

CNBlueAlbum

Another album I have been listening and loving to lately is new indie band CN Blue’s. Again, I was not interested in them because Korean indie bands is not really my thing. I like watching pop bands dance and wear weird outfits. Lol.

But of course, if you have watched the K-drama, “You’re Beautiful” then you would probably know that one of the members in this band plays the role of SHIN-WOO Hyung. Shin-woo is not my favourite character (I am fan of Tae-kyung~!) but I think this band really surprises me. Their songs are not bad at all. **Click on the pic above to be directed to the downloads**

Again, I find myself shopping to release stress. Another bad habit of mine, I sometimes buy stuff on impulse. I know I already have a collection of 2PM socks but I just cannot resist buying another pair. This time is leader Jaebeom. Sigh, I really wish he will come back to 2PM soon!!! ***Click on the pic to see my collection of socks***

I love buying necklaces lately. Here is the latest I bought. It is actually a cheap-looking necklace but I think I took a good shot of it kan? Not bad with my digital camera…kekekeke…I like this pic a lot…

I have been updating my other blog too. The shopping-oriented one. With CNY coming, I have gone into shopping frenzy for new clothes. But sad thing is that my mid-semester exams fall just before CNY so I cannot really spend too much time going out to shop.

All the clothes I bought recently are cheap stuff from flea markets but I still love them all the same. I am really excited for CNY and for more shopping!!! Are you?

of birthdays and post-exam outings

Macau was not bad, HK was a blast, and Shenzhen is disappointing

*******************************

Yes I am back from my holiday trip. Before I start blogging about my trip, however, there are still a bunch of photos that I want to post first.

Most importantly, are bday photos of my Pharmacy friends dating all the way from September. Coincidentally, they are all BLOGGERS too. LOL.

~Clara's 21st birthday
~Jia Xiang, Plaza Prima
~6th October 2009

For Babi Sia's birthday, we decided to celebrate one day later than her actual bday (which is on the 5th) because she kept expecting us to celebrate her bday, so we decided to give her a surprise. It was a joint bday between us Pharmacy gang + my housemates. Her present? It was a SS501 cd since we knew she is a huge fan of Kim Hyun-Joong. It was difficult to choose a present for her. I hope she likes it =)

Read more about it *here*

~Jane's 22nd birthday
~Pizza Hut Setapak
~30th Sept 2009

A much much belated bday post is Mei Chieng's bday. Us Pharmacy gang celebrated her bday with pizza + cake. Hehe. I hope she likes her present we got her. It was a humongous heart pillow. LOL.

Read more about it *here*

~Carolyn Teo's 21st bday
~Cannes Cafe Setapak
~13th October 2009

The "maknae" of our gang has finally become "2NE1" (according to her). We had a small celebration for her between us 6 girls + her "bro" Terev.

Sorry I do not have any photos. I thought I did take photos of that night but turns out that I did not. But, you can read more *here*.

Another interesting event is of course, the post-exam outings. Facebook of UKM students are now flooded with photos of what they all did right after exams.

My finals ended on a Thursday. After that, myself and Sia went to Prima to help with Course Nite souvenirs.

Only on Friday did Sia and I get to go shopping. We went not only to Times Square and Sg Wang but also to Pavilion. Lol.

Outside Pavilion were lots of outrageously early Christmas decorations. Sia wanted to bring one of the reindeer back to A-5-5.

Inside the shopping complex were also no exception when it comes to spreading the Xmas cheer.

I think Pavilion always outdo themselves when it comes to decor. Since we were never going to be able to afford to shop here, we might as well take photos.

Are these photos creative? Hehe. I got the idea because when passing by the Christmas trees, I saw my own reflection in these ginormous tree ball decors.

For lunch, we had the tea time buffet @ Sakae Sushi. Only with Sia, can I sit in a sushi restaurant for 2 hours eating twenty plates of sushi.

For dinner, my roommate BB and I went to Red Potato, this really nice restaurant that had just opened in Setapak.

This is our 2nd time and who knew, I bumped into my coursemate here. Haih...you know who you are...*lost appetite*

While waiting for our food, we played around with the curtains. Looks like wedding veils? LOL.

Yay, finally our food arrived!! I forgot what we ordered but this place is really "dae bak!" Must come and try the food. The lady is also funny. BB accidentally left our apartment keys and the lady scared us by telling us she did not see our keys anywhere. Turns out she was tricking us, because she later returned the keys to us ;)

you’ll never guess her secret, rest in pieces and d-i-y card

I am so broke already…pls do not tempt me to go shopping anymore…*sigh*…I need money!

*********************************************

Back for another week, very busy, but glad that mid-sem exams stress are over…

On Tuesday (1st Sept), I was supposed to have AF lab practical on fluorescence. But turns out we don’t need to do the practical because there was not any equipment in the lab. Although I was ecstatic we did not have to do lab, I wished they would have tell us earlier so I did not need to waste two hours on campus waiting for the lab practical to start.

On Wednesday (2nd Sept), I was supposed to visit an old folks’ home in Pudu for my Pharmaceutical Care project where we were required to check on the medications taken by the elderly to see if there are any problems. I think this project is a good thing to do and I was looking forward to it. However, on that day itself, just before we were about to go, the manager of the home called to say that there was a diarrhoea outbreak in the home, so our trip was postponed to next Wednesday.

On Thursday (3rd Sept), I went to One World Hotel, together with Carolyn Lee for the SS501 fan-meeting. The others who went were my Biomed housemates, Suzane, Ngiik Ling and Mei Chen as well as my other coursemates, Wei2, Ai Li and Wei Ping. It was a one hour journey to One World hotel, from taking a taxi to Wangsa Maju LRT station, then taking the LRT to Kelana Jaya and then another taxi to bring us to the hotel.

-I heard from my coursemate that I appeared in Sin Chew Daily as one of the fans who kena rejected…ROFL…I think it is quite hilarious really. First time go to meet stars, failed and ended up in newspaper-

Alas, despite all our efforts, we did not get to meet the boys at all. I kind of expected it, actually. Because the fan-meeting starts at 6pm and we only start to leave at 4pm. Listening to other friends, I know you have to be at the venue very very early in order to meet stars. I guess it was just not my day. Haih…

After that, the whole gang of us went to Chiguya Ramen @ One Utama Shopping Mall for dinner…

After dinner, Ai Li, Carolyn, Terev and I decided to catch a late night movie, “FINAL DESTINATION 4”.

My verdict: It was okay-lar. The way they die is kinda scary but the after-effects were not, especially how they filmed the corpses are kinda fake actually. The storyline is pretty boring also. But overall, the scary effect is still there, but it was not as exciting compared to their predecessors. I watched FD 1, 2 and 3 as well before.

On Friday (4th Sept), 2 significant things happened today.

Firstly, I wanna wish my coursemate Kah Hang a very happy 21st birthday!!! I looked for a bday present for him but could not find anything suitable for him. Haih…I don’t like choosing bday presents for guys, very difficult. Plus, he is such a simple and un-materialistic guy, which makes it even harder. In the end, I decided to do a simple D-I-Y card for him.

bday card It is not as nice as the one he made for my birthday (pic above), but I hope he likes it. It contains birthday messages from us 8 girls – Jia Ying, me, Janice, Ai Li, Wai Kuan, Mei Chieng, Tze Im and Wei Wei (I drew little faces of us all…but I think everyone looks the same, except for Jia Ying and Wei2…LOL).

And then, in the middle of the card, is another mini card, where I want to thank Wei Wei for composing a Mandarin poem for Kah Hang and Mei Chieng for writing the poem. Also, thanks to the others who contributed in making the card, especially in writing the Mandarin proverbs.

kahhang1kahhang2

-The blogger sempat to pose with her finished product…hopefully I can do nicer ones next time;)-

After class that day, I went to Pavilion to watch the movie, “The Orphan”, courtesy of these complimentary tickets from Fly FM. The 6 of us went, myself, Suzane, BB, Wei2, Ngiik Ling and Mei Chen.

orphan_ver3My verdict: Honestly, really scary and very nice movie! Esther, the orphan is so damn scary wei. Creepy but I like how the movie is straight to the point and not very draggy. And the story, you will never guess what is Esther’s secret…(Read Ai Li’s blog for the synopsis)…

Even during the movie, I cannot helped but laughed at Suzane and Wei2. I sat next to Suzane, and out of a sudden, she will start to scream. Scared me more than the movie itself. LOL. As for Sia, sometimes throughout the movie, I can see her face getting smaller and smaller. Why le? Because she buries most of her face in her jacket. Hahahaha. At one point, can only see her forehead only.

Too bad we did not get a chance to eat anything nice in Pavilion because by the time we reached the food court after the movie ended, it was close to closing time of 10pm. Next time maybe.

pavilion1 pavilion2

-Posing with stores that we can only see, and cannot buy. LOL-

pavilion3

-Outside Pavilion, and Babi Sia is wearing her new blouse. Woot woot!-

List of to-dos (still!)

PBL information, AF reports and lots of notes neglected! Still so much things to do! Sienz…
