silver lining in a cloud

today is january 21st 2010…
I am so bored of looking at my notes so I am procrastinating them to have a little update…I know, habits are hard to change, but I need to make effort to change my procrastinating habits soon…
Today is also the day of 2AM’s comeback. Yay. I have been waiting for their comeback since last year. Although they are not as popular as 2PM, but seriously their voices are so sweet and melodious. I admit, I was not that interested in them initially because I am not big fans of Korean ballad groups but after watching them in variety shows, 2AM has definitely garnered my interest. Seulong is not only tall and good-looking but he is so funny;)
And of course their leader Jo Kwon, whom I was already a fan of but became obsessed recently with his show, We Got Married. In it, Jo Kwon and Ga-In of Brown Eyed Girls act as a fake marriage couple. It is kind of like a reality show and he is so funny. But I think he has multiple personalities because sometimes he can be so cute, so brave and also so charismatic at times. He never fails to make me laugh during every episode. I wish he and Ga-In can end up together for real ~~!!!
By the way, I totally recommend their songs and their latest album. Their voices are great. **Click on the pic above to be directed to the downloads**
Another album I have been listening and loving to lately is new indie band CN Blue’s. Again, I was not interested in them because Korean indie bands is not really my thing. I like watching pop bands dance and wear weird outfits. Lol.
But of course, if you have watched the K-drama, “You’re Beautiful” then you would probably know that one of the members in this band plays the role of SHIN-WOO Hyung. Shin-woo is not my favourite character (I am fan of Tae-kyung~!) but I think this band really surprises me. Their songs are not bad at all. **Click on the pic above to be directed to the downloads**
Again, I find myself shopping to release stress. Another bad habit of mine, I sometimes buy stuff on impulse. I know I already have a collection of 2PM socks but I just cannot resist buying another pair. This time is leader Jaebeom. Sigh, I really wish he will come back to 2PM soon!!! ***Click on the pic to see my collection of socks***
I love buying necklaces lately. Here is the latest I bought. It is actually a cheap-looking necklace but I think I took a good shot of it kan? Not bad with my digital camera…kekekeke…I like this pic a lot…

I have been updating my other blog too. The shopping-oriented one. With CNY coming, I have gone into shopping frenzy for new clothes. But sad thing is that my mid-semester exams fall just before CNY so I cannot really spend too much time going out to shop.
All the clothes I bought recently are cheap stuff from flea markets but I still love them all the same. I am really excited for CNY and for more shopping!!! Are you?
singapore part II: lost for a while looking for chinatown
The next morning we packed our belongings and took the MRT to Chinatown. However upon arrival, we realized we are at Chinatown Point the shopping mall (which had pretty cool Garfield-theme Xmas decor, btw)…
So we pulled out our most trusty map in search of Chinatown. I forgot how did we get our directions but later on, we decided to walk down the main road.
Along the way, I saw some really beautiful old architecture buildings. I think it was a hotel (?)
Finally we found Chinatown! kekekeke…it was totally serendipity actually. Collection of photos I took of the old Chinese buildings in Chinatown…
We had our breakfast in here too. I ordered curry laksa but they had assam laksa noodles. Very tasty although a bit pricey. They had 3 sizes…small, medium and large. Lol.
After that, it was walking around the streets. Of course it was a hot day so Clara took out her Esprit umbrella.
We mostly shop for souvenirs here. There were so many shops selling all kinds of pretty & colourful souvenirs. And also, did not miss chance to cam-whore ;)
Then we headed back to the MRT station for our next destination. Before that, we had a little fun with Gwyneth’s billboard. kekekeke…
Suzane & Clara imitating Singapore’s pride & joy, Phua Chu Kang & Rosie Phua…did they do a good job?
Our next station…can you guess where we were heading? I will reveal in my next post…^^

singapore part I: 10 hours train ride + orchard rd
Singapore trip: 25th and 26th December 2009 with Beng Beng, Suzane, Wei Wei, Ngiik Ling and Mei Chen. All photos credited to me, BB and Suzane’s camera. For more pics, go to the “all-useful” Facebook.
Our journey started early AM in KL Sentral as we await for our KTM train to Singapore. Why train? I guess we wanted to try something different rather than always taking the bus for our travels. Although the train is a lot more comfortable than bus, but it actually takes longer because it makes many stops along the many stations from KL –> Singapore.
The guide map is basically, our Spore trip planner. It is our Bible, you can say. We never leave anywhere without it.
Clara & me. It was mostly snooze time all the way to Spore. And music of course, thanks so much to my trusty mp3 player for helping me survive the boredom.
Sadly, all is not smooth as our train’s engine broke down somewhere in Johor (?). We were like stuck in the middle of nowhere. While waiting for the replacement engine, we walked outside for some village air.
To fill in the one hour wait, we walked around and later settled for card game “cho tai di”.
We finally arrived at Tanjong Pagar @ Spore approx. 7PM…
I love taking the MRT in Spore because it is so efficient and so fast. You don’t have to wait a long time for the next train. No wonder the MRT stations are always packed with people. Not only is the train super quick, so are the escalators. I was so nervous the first time around because the escalator’s speed is so unlike KL’s.
#1: ORCHARD ROAD
Our first stop is to Orchard Road. Because our train was delayed, when we got there, the whole place was packed with people and we missed the Christmas Parade too. T.T
My first impression of Orchard Rd, besides the sea of people there, is the fact that there so many shopping malls. Seriously, they are all clustered together like a residential area or something. Not sure how many are there as we walked down the road.
We had our dinner in Wisma Atria’s food court. And took photos at Paragon’s Xmas tree.
We are all red, thanks to laser lights from a show that was going on.
Cute Xmas reindeers decorated the street. Although I wanted to take photos of all, it was quite hard due to many people also having the same intentions.
There were also Xmas parade boats in the road. Clara pulling out her cheesy “Heartbeat” pose. 2nd pic is me with this cool Ferrero Rocher Xmas tree.
My roommates imitating the statue. And 2nd pic are us along the busy Xmas decorated Orchard Rd.
Sia's imitation of the billboard. 2nd pic is one of those rare group photos. It was so disorganized, really.
After tired not only from our 10 hour train ride but also from walking, we treated ourselves to ice-cream wrapped in sandwich wafers. Tasted good but so messy. kekeke…
Finally we decided to head back to Asphodel Inn at Little India, where we were staying. Nearby is City Square Mall. We made a short pit stop there to take pics and play around with the carriage. If you pedal hard enough, the lights will lit up.
My roommates. Our room is pretty small but I guess due to tiredness, we did not think too much and just went off to dreamland…
